Privacy Policy

Welcome to Raindrop Media, LLC (“Company”, “we”, “our”, “us”). By hiring our services, you (“Client”) agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service (“Terms”). These Terms govern all agreements between Raindrop Media, LLC and its Clients.

1. Who we are

Raindrop Media, LLC (“Raindrop Media”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a video, photography and aerial media company based at 524 Kedzie St, Evanston, Illinois 60202, United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit raindropmedia.co, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy covers this website only. Our booking portal at portal.raindropmedia.co collects information directly from you in order to schedule and pay for a shoot, and is described separately in Section 4.

2. What we use, and what we don’t

We want to be direct about this, because most privacy policies are written to obscure it.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and move through this site — which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are located, what device and browser they use, and how they arrived. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device (typically named _ga and _ga_<id>) and assigns a random identifier so it can tell a returning visit from a new one. We use this to improve the site. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we never upload names, email addresses or phone numbers to it.

We have deliberately switched off the advertising features. Google Signals, ads personalisation and remarketing are disabled on our property. That means your visit is not added to an advertising profile, is not used to target ads to you elsewhere, and is not shared with Google for its own advertising purposes.

Beyond analytics, on raindropmedia.co:

• We run no advertising or conversion tracking — no Meta Pixel, no ad platform tags.
• We use no session recording, heatmaps, chat widgets or similar tools.
• We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
• We do not require you to create an account, log in, or submit a form to browse this site.

Your choices. You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing Google’s browser opt-out add-on, by blocking cookies for this site in your browser settings, or by using your browser’s private browsing mode. Nothing on this site requires analytics cookies in order to work, so blocking them costs you nothing.

3. Information collected automatically

Server logs. Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested, which may include your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, and the date and time of the request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose faults. We do not use it to identify you.

Third-party resources. Some parts of this site are loaded from other companies’ servers. When your browser requests those files, that company necessarily receives your IP address and basic request information, because that is how the internet works. Specifically:

Vimeo (vimeo.com) hosts the video clips embedded on our site. We load every Vimeo player with the Do Not Track flag enabled (dnt=1), which instructs Vimeo not to set tracking cookies or record viewing data for advertising. Vimeo’s privacy policy is at vimeo.com/privacy.
Google Analytics (googletagmanager.com, google-analytics.com) records the page-view and device information described in Section 2. Google acts as our data processor for this. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) serves the typefaces used on this site.
jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) serves the icon font used on this site.

We do not control these companies and do not receive personal information back from them.

4. Information you give us

We only receive personal information from you when you choose to send it:

By email. If you write to Info@Raindropmedia.co we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, and whatever you choose to tell us.

By phone. If you call us we receive your phone number and the content of the conversation.

Through our booking portal. The “Book now” and “Explore pricing” buttons take you to portal.raindropmedia.co, a separate scheduling and payment system. There you may provide your name, email address, phone number, the property or business address for the shoot, scheduling preferences, and payment information. Payment card details are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.

We use this information solely to respond to you, quote and schedule work, deliver files, invoice and collect payment, and keep the records a business is required to keep. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.

5. Photography and video of people

Our work regularly involves filming and photographing properties, businesses and the people in them. If you appear in footage or photographs we capture:

• We create and hold that footage in order to produce the deliverables our client engaged us for.
• Under our Terms of Service, our client is responsible for obtaining written releases from every identifiable person appearing in a shoot.
• We may use finished deliverables in our portfolio, on social media, and in advertising, as described in Section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
If you appear in something we have published and want it removed, email us and we will remove it. You do not need to explain why.

We do not use facial recognition, faceprinting, or any tool that derives a scan of face geometry, and we do not collect or store biometric identifiers as defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14).

6. Who we share information with

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with:

Service providers who help us operate — our website host, email provider, scheduling and payment processors, and file delivery services — and only to the extent needed to perform that function.
Our client, where you are a subject of a shoot they commissioned.
Authorities or others where we are legally required to do so, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

7. How long we keep things

We keep project files, correspondence and raw footage for as long as needed to deliver and support the work and to meet tax, accounting and legal obligations — generally seven years for financial records. Raw footage is retained under Section 7 of our Terms of Service. You can ask us to delete material about you at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

8. Your choices and rights

You can contact us at Info@Raindropmedia.co at any time to ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop contacting you, or ask us to remove your image from anything we have published. We will respond within 30 days.

California residents. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request deletion, to request correction, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing for you to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Illinois residents. The Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (815 ILCS 530) requires us to notify you of a breach of unencrypted personal information. We maintain reasonable safeguards and will provide notice as the statute requires.

Opt-out preference signals. We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends GPC, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information — although, as stated above, we do not sell or share it in the first place. We pass the Do Not Track flag to Vimeo on every embedded video regardless of your browser setting. To stop Google Analytics collecting your visit, see the opt-out options in Section 2.

9. Children

This website is directed to businesses and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

This website is a set of static files. It has no database, no login, no forms and no user accounts, which means there is no visitor data stored here to be breached. Information you send by email or through our booking portal is protected by the security measures of those systems, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Links to other sites

Our site links to Instagram and to our booking portal, and embeds video from Vimeo. Those services have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not apply to them.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will post the updated version here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will make that clear at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
